What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure that induces collagen production by causing microchannels in the superficial layers of the skin. It helps to improve skin texture, tone, scarring, acne, fine wrinkles and improve the penetration of medications (vitamin C, lightening or bleaching serums, regenerative medicine, Hyaluronic Acid) and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to the epidermis.
At Orchidia Medical Group, our board-certified physicians will do an evaluation of your skin and will determine the best products that can be used to reach the greatest results. We also offer microneedling using Omni grow factors with TaC Clinical Core Recovery Complex.
This is a highly concentrated serum that contains targeted growth factors and cytokines that helps to regenerate new cells. With over 99% growth factor concentration this serum is unparalleled in the industry with outstanding results.
Microneedling is also a great procedure for hair restoration, as microchanneling the scalp induces collagen stimulation and growth factors within the hair follicle. For even greater results, our doctors use TaC Clinical Hair Restorative Complex; this serum promotes healthy hair re-growth as it contains concentrated growth factors.
Continued exposure to the sun and extrinsic factors can cause pigmentation issues on the skin. With aging, noticeable dark freckles and melasma will develop in some individuals.
Microneedling with a prescription bleaching cream will lighten the dark spots, giving you smooth and shiny skin. In some patients, our doctors will use other procedures or even prescribe some medications to enhance the results.
How does it work?
Microneedling uses tiny needles to create micro channels (tiny holes) in the skin. This will stimulate your skin’s natural ability to heal itself and promote collagen production.
What can I expect?
The device is passed over the skin while the microneedles create the superficial micro channels as described above. The process is minimally painful if at all, depending on the depth needed for treatment. You can see redness after the treatment that can last up to 48 hours.
How often are the treatments required?
Because your skin continues to age, you must continue to rejuvenate and maintain treatments. You can receive treatments every 4 to 6 weeks and will notice excellent results after 3 to 4 treatments.
